Local presence dialing on the numbers you own
A prospect in San Diego answers a 619 number more often than a 403. Every per-seat dialer sells that as a rental pool of numbers you never own, priced per seat on top of the telephony. DialSheet does it the other way round: you own the numbers, on your Twilio account or on a DialSheet line, and Power Dial picks the one that matches each lead.
How it works
- Own a number in each area code you call often. Buy them in the Twilio Console, or add them to a DialSheet line from Settings.
- Open Power Dial on a list and flip Local presence, beside Auto-dial. The question mark next to it explains the rule.
- Each lead rings from your number in its area code. The header says Rings from +1 619 555 0141 whenever it swapped.
- Leads with no matching number ring from your Call from pick, exactly as before.
The match is exact: a 619 lead needs a 619 number, and 858 does not count. Only numbers on the same Twilio account as your picked number are candidates, because the browser dialer signs in to one account per session. The switch is remembered on that browser, like Auto-dial, and nothing changes for the rest of the team until they flip their own.
What it costs
A rep covering three regions on their own Twilio pays $29 for the seat and about $3 for three numbers, plus minutes at wholesale. The same rep on a DialSheet line pays $49 for the line and two extras at $10 each. Kixie prices its local presence pool at a flat $300 a month on top of the seats, and Dialpad Sell puts it on the Advanced tier without a dialer. The full per-SKU arithmetic is in the Twilio local presence guide.
Setting it up
On your own Twilio account
In the Twilio Console, go to Phone Numbers, Buy a Number, and filter by the area codes your leads live in. Then under Settings, Twilio in DialSheet click Fetch new numbers to bring them in. Assign each to your approved Business Profile and Trust Product so it carries A-level attestation.
On a DialSheet line
Under Settings, Twilio, the line card has Add a number. Pick the country and area code, choose the number, and it is live in seconds at $10 a month, sharing the line's minutes. A line holds up to 4 extras.

What it does not do
- Rotate numbers. Each area code maps to one owned number, and that number rings every lead in it.
- Rent or buy numbers. If you have no number in a lead's area code, the lead rings from your pick.
- Match by state, region or time zone. The rule is the three-digit area code, nothing looser.
- Run outside Power Dial. The parallel dialer, lead page, floating dial pad and mobile page ring from the picked number.
- Cover numbers outside the US and Canada. Other countries have variable-length trunk codes and no match rule yet.
Will it lift answer rates?
Some, and less than the 2023 numbers suggested. Vendors still report a local caller ID answering 20 to 40 percent more often than an out-of-area or toll-free one, down from the 50 percent figures of a few years ago, because buyers are warier of unknown local numbers and carriers watch for pooled local presence patterns. The lift holds up best when the displayed numbers are owned, registered and attested, which is the whole case for doing it on numbers you control rather than a rented pool. Register every number with the STIR/SHAKEN Trust Product, give each one a greeting so callbacks land somewhere real, and retire any that start showing as spam.

Common questions
How does local presence work in DialSheet?
Flip the Local presence switch in the Power Dial header. For every lead, the dialer looks at the lead's area code and, if one of the numbers on your account shares it, rings from that number. If none does, it rings from the number you picked under Call from. The header says which number the lead in front of you rings from. It is remembered on that browser, like Auto-dial.
Does DialSheet rotate numbers or rent a local presence pool?
No. It only picks among the numbers already on your account, one per area code match, and nothing is bought or rotated for you. Rental pools are what per-seat dialers charge $20 to $150 a seat for, and those pooled numbers cap at B-level STIR/SHAKEN attestation. Numbers you own and register get A-level attestation, which is the better trade for answer rates in 2026.
What does local presence cost on DialSheet?
Nothing on top of the seat. Pro is $29 a month for the first seat and the same for each teammate. The numbers are the only extra: about $1.15 a month each on your own Twilio account, or $10 a month each as extra numbers on a DialSheet line, which share the line's minutes.
How many numbers do I need?
One per area code you call often. A rep working Calgary, San Diego and Atlanta needs a 403, a 619 and a 678. Leads in any other area code ring from the number you picked, so two or three well-chosen numbers cover most lists. Nearby area codes in the same city are not matched, so if a list is split across 619 and 858, buy both.
Which dialers does it work in?
Power Dial only. The parallel dialer, the lead page, the floating dial pad and the mobile page still ring from the number you picked. US and Canada area codes only, and the matching number has to sit on the same Twilio account as your picked number.
Is it included on the free plan?
No. Free accounts see the switch in Power Dial and are offered Pro when they flip it. Pro is $29 a month, and the free plan stays free for one person, with a list of up to 500 leads and 500 calls a month.
