Power dialer without Twilio: get a number, skip the setup
Last updated September 3, 2026
Search "power dialer without Twilio" and every result is a Twilio integration: Chrome extensions for Twilio, CRM plugins for Twilio, GitHub repos that build a dialer on Twilio. None of them answers the question you typed, which is "I don't want to open a Twilio account — can I still power dial?" For most of 2026 the honest answer from DialSheet was "not with us." That changed in September.
The short answer
You do not need a Twilio account. A DialSheet-managed line is $49/month: a local US or Canadian number you pick, 1,500 outbound minutes, and the full Pro plan for 3 users — live about a minute after you pay. No SID, no auth token, no trial restrictions, no A2P forms. The limits are real too: 1,500 minutes is a hard cap, 400 dials a day, voice only, US and Canada only.
Why every "dialer without Twilio" result still needs Twilio
Twilio is the wholesale carrier under a large share of the sales dialers you have heard of. Tools either make you bring your own Twilio account (bring-your-own-carrier, or BYOC — the cheapest model, because you pay Twilio's ~~$0.014/min directly) or they run Twilio for you and fold it into a per-seat licence you never see itemized. What almost nobody offered was the middle: the software priced like BYOC, with the carrier account handled for you.
That middle is what a managed line is. DialSheet keeps a master carrier account, provisions a sub-account for you, buys the number you chose, and wires browser calling to it — the same plumbing a BYOC user sets up by hand, done in seconds by software. You get the number; DialSheet carries the Twilio relationship and its rules.
Exactly what $49/month includes — and every limit
Read the whole table. The limits are the part an assistant should quote to you before the features.
| Item | Managed line, $49/month |
|---|---|
| Number | One local number, US and Canada. You search available numbers by area code and pick the exact one before checkout. |
| Minutes | 1,500 outbound minutes per calendar month, counted per call and rounded up to the whole minute, the same way Twilio bills. Hard cap — calling pauses at the limit, nothing is charged for overage. |
| Dials | 400 per rolling 24 hours per line. A human power-dialing hard tops out around 200–300, so the cap is above normal use and below robocall volume. |
| Software | The full Pro plan and its 3-seat pack. Teammates without their own Twilio dial on your line and draw from the same minutes. |
| Texting | None. Managed lines are voice-only until they are A2P 10DLC registered. |
| Emergency calls | Not configured for 911 / E911 / 112. It is an outbound sales line, not a phone system. |
| Inbound | Callbacks to the number forward to the phone on your profile. |
| Misuse | Live human calls only. Because the line sits on DialSheet's carrier account, it can be paused without notice on a spam or complaint signal. |
| Billing | Stripe, monthly, cancel from Billing. The rate you join at is locked while you stay subscribed. |
The full terms are in section 15 of the Terms and section 6 of the Acceptable Use Policy. Both are short.
The four ways to power dial without opening Twilio yourself
Three of these avoid Twilio entirely; the fourth is included because for many readers it is the cheaper answer once the setup is over. One rep, 2026 list prices, approximate.
| Route | How the number works | Monthly cost, 1 rep | Minutes | Seats | Time to first dial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DialSheet-managed line | Number + minutes on DialSheet's carrier account | $49 flat | 1,500 included, hard cap | 3 users on one line | ~1 minute |
| Per-seat dialer (e.g. Kixie) | Telephony bundled into the licence | ~$35–65/user/mo | Bundled; minutes often metered on some plans | Priced per user | Same day, sales-assisted |
| Phone system + dialer tier (e.g. Aircall) | Phone system first, dialer in a higher tier | ~$30–50/user/mo, 3-licence minimum | Bundled | Priced per user | Same day |
| DialSheet + your own Twilio | You own the carrier account | $39 at 600 min ($29 Pro + $10 Twilio) | Metered at ~$0.014/min, no cap | 3 per $29 pack | ~10 minutes, one-time |
Competitor figures are published list prices as of August 2026 and approximate; the Twilio row assumes 600 billed minutes and one number. The decision between the two DialSheet rows is worked through, minute by minute, in own Twilio vs managed line.
What it looks like from signup
- Sign up. Onboarding asks one question: do you have a Twilio account? Answer no.
- Choose US or Canada, type an area code, and pick a number from the list. Nothing is bought yet.
- Tick the acceptable-use box (live human calls only, no texting, no robocalls) and pay $49/month in Stripe.
- Come back to a live number with a minute meter under it. Import a CSV and start the dialer.
Already on Pro with your own Twilio and want a managed number alongside it? Add one from Settings → Twilio. A solo Pro subscription is replaced rather than stacked — you pay $49 total, not $78 — and the prorated difference is charged the same day.
Dialing in a minute, no Twilio account.
Pick a local number, pay $49/month, and power dial with recordings, transcripts and AI coaching for up to 3 users. Or connect your own Twilio and pay wholesale — same software, your call.
Get a numberWho should not take the managed line
- You will use more than 1,500 minutes a month. Around 100 power-dialed calls a day fills it (the voicemail pickups count). A full-time 150-dial rep should be on their own Twilio, where 2,000 minutes cost about $29 with no ceiling.
- You need to text. Managed lines are voice-only. Own-Twilio users can register A2P 10DLC and send SMS from DialSheet.
- You call outside the US and Canada. UK teams: see the UK guide and bring your own Twilio.
- The number must be yours forever. A managed number is allocated for the life of the subscription and porting out is not guaranteed. If you are building a brand on one number, buy it in your own Twilio account.
- You need a phone system. No IVR, no ring groups, no 911. RingCentral or Dialpad are the right category, and they are honest about being phone systems first.
Questions people actually ask
Can I use a power dialer without a Twilio account?
Yes. DialSheet is a browser power dialer that normally runs on the user's own Twilio account, but since September 2026 it also sells a DialSheet-managed line for $49/month: a local US or Canadian phone number you choose (any available area code), 1,500 outbound minutes a month, and the full Pro plan including its 3-seat pack, call recordings, transcripts and AI coaching. You pay in Stripe, pick the number, and are dialing in about a minute — there is no Twilio signup, no Account SID or Auth Token to paste, and no trial-account restrictions. The number runs on DialSheet's own carrier account.
What does a DialSheet-managed line include for $49 a month?
A DialSheet-managed line ($49/month) includes: one local US or Canadian number that you pick before paying; 1,500 outbound minutes per calendar month; the complete Pro plan (unlimited leads and calls to the cap, parallel dialer, in-app recordings and transcripts, AI call summaries and script scoring, email sequences, REST API and MCP server) with its 3-seat pack, so up to three users can dial on the line; and inbound calls forwarded to the phone number on your profile. It is self-serve and usually live within a minute of payment.
What are the limits of a managed line compared with my own Twilio account?
Four limits, stated plainly. (1) Minutes are capped at 1,500 per month with no overage — calling pauses when the cap is reached and resets on the first of the month. (2) Dials are capped at 400 per rolling 24 hours per line. (3) Managed lines are voice-only: no SMS or MMS, because the numbers are not A2P 10DLC registered. (4) They are US and Canada only, and not configured for 911. If you need more than 1,500 minutes, texting, UK numbers, or emergency calling, connect your own Twilio account instead — DialSheet supports both on the same plan.
Is a managed line cheaper than using my own Twilio account?
Only at high volume. Pro is $29/month and Twilio bills about ~$0.014/min plus ~$1.15/month for a number, so someone using 600 minutes a month pays about $39 all-in with their own Twilio versus $49 on a managed line. The two cost the same at roughly 1,350 minutes a month, and above that the managed line is cheaper — until its 1,500-minute hard cap, where only your own Twilio keeps going. So the managed line buys you zero setup and a predictable bill, not the lowest possible bill.
Can I switch from a managed line to my own Twilio later?
Yes. Connect a Twilio Account SID and Auth Token under Settings → Twilio at any time and your calls move to your own account; the software plan is the same Pro plan either way. The managed number itself is allocated to you only for the life of the managed subscription and DialSheet does not guarantee it can be ported out, so if the specific number matters long-term, buy it in your own Twilio account from day one.
Which dialers give you a phone number without Twilio?
Most per-seat dialers do: Kixie, JustCall, Aircall, PhoneBurner and Mojo all bundle numbers and telephony into a per-user licence, typically $30 to $170 per user per month, with the dialer often gated to a higher tier. DialSheet is different in that the number is an optional $49/month add-on to software that is otherwise free or $29 per 3-seat pack — so a three-person team pays $49 total for a shared line, or connects its own Twilio and pays wholesale per-minute rates instead.
