Cold calling software with a phone number included: what "included" actually costs

Last updated September 3, 2026

The listicles for this search (CloudTalk, Cleverly, MightyCall, HubSpot) all say the same thing: "setup takes minutes, numbers included." True, and useless, because none of them says what the number costs you. A phone number is a wholesale commodity — about ~$1.15/month — and the minutes behind it are about ~$0.014/min. Every "included" is that commodity plus a margin, hidden inside a per-seat price. This page puts the margin back on the table.

The short answer

Every per-seat dialer includes a number; you pay for it in the seat. The cheapest "number included" option for a small team is a DialSheet-managed line at $49/month for 3 users — one local number, 1,500 minutes, full Pro. The cheapest option overall is still to bring your own Twilio, where a number is ~$1.15/month and a rep's month of calls is about $10.

The same three-person team, three ways

A three-rep outbound team wants numbers included and no Twilio homework. Here is the monthly software-plus- telephony bill under each model, using list prices and a working assumption of 1,500 billed minutes across the team.

ModelWhat you getPer month
Per-seat dialer, low end (Kixie-class)3 seats × ~$35, numbers bundled~$105
Per-seat dialer, bundled unlimited (PhoneBurner-class)3 seats × ~$149~$447
DialSheet managed line, shared1 number, 1,500 min shared by 3 users, full Pro$49
DialSheet Pro + own Twilio3 numbers, 1,500 min at wholesale, no cap ($29 software + $24 Twilio)~$53

Notice the honest part: at 1,500 shared minutes the managed line and own-Twilio rows are nearly the same price, and own-Twilio gives each rep their own number with no cap. The managed line wins on the ten minutes you never spend in the Twilio console; it does not win on price unless the team dials lightly and wants one bill.

A number included, priced like the commodity it is.

$49/month: pick a local US or Canadian number, get 1,500 minutes and the full Pro plan for 3 users, dialing in about a minute. Prefer wholesale? Connect your own Twilio to the same software for $29 per 3 seats.

Five things to check before you believe "number included"

Questions people actually ask

Which cold calling software includes a phone number?

Almost every per-seat dialer does — Kixie, JustCall, Aircall, PhoneBurner, Mojo, Dialpad and RingCentral all issue numbers as part of a user licence, typically $20 to $170 per user per month, with the power dialer often gated to a higher tier. DialSheet includes a number a different way: the software is free (one person, 500 calls a month) or $29 per 3-seat pack, and a local US or Canadian number with 1,500 minutes is an optional $49/month managed line that also carries the full Pro plan for 3 users. Or you connect your own Twilio account, where a number is about ~$1.15/month.

How much does a phone number really cost in a dialer?

At wholesale, a US local number costs about ~$1.15/month on Twilio and outbound calls about ~$0.014/min. So a rep using 600 minutes a month costs roughly $10 of pure telephony. When a dialer says the number is "included," that $10 — plus a margin — is inside the seat price. The question to ask is not "is the number included" but "what am I paying per seat for the number and minutes I would otherwise buy for about $10."

What does DialSheet's managed line include for $49?

One local US or Canadian phone number you choose by area code before paying, 1,500 outbound minutes per month (hard cap, no overage charges), inbound forwarding to your own phone, and the complete Pro plan including its 3-seat pack, call recordings, transcripts, AI summaries and script scoring, parallel dialer, sequences and API access. It is self-serve, paid in Stripe, and live in about a minute. It does not include SMS, 911, or numbers outside the US and Canada.

Can three reps share one included phone number?

On DialSheet, yes: the $49/month managed line carries a 3-seat Pro pack, and teammates without their own Twilio dial on the owner's line, drawing from the same 1,500 minutes and the same 400-dials-per-day cap. That makes it the cheapest "number included" option for a very small team — $49 total rather than three seats — but three people dialing hard on one number will hit the cap and concentrate volume on a single caller ID. Teams that dial all day should give each rep their own number.

Is a dialer with a number included better than bringing my own Twilio?

It is faster, not cheaper. Bringing your own Twilio account means about ten minutes of one-time setup and a wholesale bill (~$1.15/month per number, ~$0.014/min) with no cap; a bundled number means zero setup and a flat price. On DialSheet the crossover is around 1,350 minutes a month — below that, Pro plus your own Twilio is cheaper than the $49 managed line; above it the managed line is cheaper until its 1,500-minute cap.

Do included numbers come with unlimited minutes?

Sometimes, with fair-use limits in the terms. Kixie advertises unlimited US and Canada minutes on its plans; PhoneBurner bundles unlimited dialing into a ~$149–169 seat; Mojo includes minutes in its per-line pricing; JustCall and Aircall bundle minutes per seat with conditions. DialSheet's managed line is explicit rather than unlimited: 1,500 minutes, hard cap, no overage, and the alternative of your own Twilio at wholesale with no cap at all.
